Where We Are Now

Step 1. Data Collection Stage

We are currently in the data collection stage. Through our survey, we are gathering the voices of people with disability, families, and carers about their real experiences in the healthcare system.

Every response builds a stronger case for change.

Step 1.

Gather The voices

with surveys of people with disability, families and carers.

Step 2.

Analyse the data

to uncover the common patterns and problems.

Step 3.

Publish the findings

in detailed factual reports that cannot be ignored.

Step 4.

Campaign for change

to government, hospitals, and healthcare providers.

What We Already Know

Research shows that people with disability face serious inequalities in healthcare. Here are just some of the facts:

Premature Deaths

People with intellectual disability die 27 years younger than the general population.

Preventable Deaths

Many preventable deaths are, caused by poor access to healthcare or being dismissed by medical professionals.

Healthcare Inequity
People with disability are often excluded from cancer screenings, blood tests, and vaccinations.

Medical Neglect

Some doctors place Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders on patients with disability, even against the wishes of their families.

These facts are unacceptable.
That’s why we are building evidence from lived experiences.
So the truth cannot be ignored.

What’s Coming Next

Once the survey stage is complete, we will:

Analyse the data

to identify the main barriers and problems.

Publish Reports

that will be shared with government, health providers, and the wider community.

Develop advocacy papers

to push for policy changes and systemic reform.

Future Resources

We are also developing resources to support:

People with disability

guides to help navigate the healthcare system with more confidence.

Families and carers

tools to ensure they are included and respected in medical decision-making.

Medical professionals

information to build confidence, reduce bias, and improve treatment of patients with disability.
